i want to change the calendar so that it matches the color on the website it's embedded in. but whenever i go to the colors pane under options the page will not load! i've tried it in IE, firefox, and safari browsers. the only thaing that shows up is a "loading..." message & a "save" button at the bottom, but NO options. i will try it in netscape next, but this is a problem. |

Are you using a PC? Currently, this screen is only supported on IE4+ and Netscape 4.7+ on a PC (if it doesn't work; make sure you have javascript enabled) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

He/she is probably using a Mac because I am having the same problem. There was a note about Wintel-only right now regarding the 'Task Options', but I didn't see anything about similar restrictions for the color prefs - thanks for the 'heads up'. Would you happen to have any idea when Mac support will be enabled for the color prefs? Thanks in advance for any info you could provide. |

Color Prefs and the Task Editor both use DHTML that is not currently supported by Safari or Mac IE. For the forums, we're a week or so away from moving to customization of almost every attribute via CSS. We would like to offer the same thing for the calendars also. The complexity is that the calendars have an existing (non-css based) method, and it will have to co-exist with a new CSS-based one (because of existing customizations). Now that we've almost finished the forums, we've learned some lessons that will hopefully make this a reality. But the recent unanticipated data center relocation has drained some of our resources. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

when will THAT problem be fixed? to only work on PCs is bad enough, but to only use the commercial crappy browsers is also bad... are you planning on servicing the rest of us independent thinkers? since i don't plan on buying a whole new computer to use the calendar, will YOU change my calendar to purple on your end? that would be nice. pleeeease? right now, i cannot see my header text because it is a pale grey color... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 2 times, last edit by SquawkandHowl at Apr 20, 2005, 9:14:41 PM] |

Gee, since you asked so nicely.... It's so wonderful to provide a service that is for the most part free. You get such lovely feedback. But I'm sure you'll be subscribing, right ? ![]()
FYI, at time of implementation, a lot of these newer browsers didn't even exist. NS 4.7 and IE4.0 weren't, as you describe them " commercial crappy browsers", but the only game in town (except for Mosaic). So, it's not a problem so much as our inability to service every niche browser people decide to use. I wont even get into the non-compatibility issues of browers used by "independent thinkers" I'll add your request to our queue. The forums customization section is nearly complete and is all CSS-based you'll be relieved to know. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by support at Apr 21, 2005, 9:23:39 PM] |

i apologize if my last post seemed harsh. i had a very bad day that day and just wanted to accomplish one task & get it off my list (i'm sure you've been there). when i was unable to do that with my calendar, i got annoyed, but should not have taken it out on you. i currently use firefox, not safari or IE, on a max running mac OS 10.2.8, if that helps you in any way. and by the way, if the calendar works for me, i would gladly support it. i am just srarting to use it and it's a "trial run". right now, i am offering a free community service using the calendar. i do donate to shareware & have web subscription to boards i frequent and my blogging site. i do support and appreciate web developers like yourself. again, i apologize and hope you have a nice day. |

No problem. With all these server problems, I've been a little antsy myself. ![]() Actually, we're working on using the BrowserHawk package (www.cyscape.com) to detect Safari, Firefox (what I'm using now) and other browsers correctly. With this in place, we'll at least be able to offer a "forms-based" customization screen for calendar colors fairly quickly (maybe even by this weekend) The ultimate goal is still to move to CSS though. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
