Is there any way to link a listing of events located elsewhere on my web to the actual day on the calendar? Thanks ![]() |

I was wondering the same thing!! I have been having a devil of a time embedding a STATIC calendar (that covers ONE month and ONE month ONLY!) on to my website, simply because of how it is laid out. Take a look at the site I am in the process of building for our non-profit group, Dreams Fulfilled Through Music. Our full web address is http://www.dreamsfulfilledthroughmusic.org but you can also access it through http://www.alamoangels.org which is easier to type (by far)! ![]() Click on the link for Calendar on the left hand navigation bar. That will take you to our main calendar home page that has the links to each month. I spent countless hours designing the images that are graphical links to each month's calendar so I REALLY REALLY do not want to use just the interactive calendar that they have here b/c that would mean I would have to completely change the way that my calendar is set up. I had started a new thread to support about just this problem of embedding the calendars into my calendar and Marc wrote right back the next day saying that it shouldn't be hard and that he should have a fix posted for me tomorrow, well he posted that on 1/15 and here it is 1/19 and still no post! ![]() ![]() As far as linking to an individual day as your question states, I don't think that it should be very hard. You should be able to just navigate to the day of your calendar and/or the event detail page of your localendar and simply copy the URL out of the Address bar but since I haven't tried it on my own situation, I am not 100% sure that it would work. I am going to be working on my alternative solution (i.e. Image Maps) more this afternoon, so I will have to try this myself. Once I get that far, I will post again and let you know if it worked or not... Hope this helps, alamoangels |

I went to your site (funny, I had visited last week out of curiosity of your location) anyway, the calendar link didn't work. ![]() I'm still waiting to hear from localendar for an answer - will keep trying from my end, with what knowledge I have. ![]() Thanks for your input. You can visit our site to see what's happening there! www.macfirstchristian.com This is my test site as I learn new applications, I apply them here. Slow going, but it's going! |

I think you can use the start date to do that... yup, it's in the faq, of all places... http://www.localendar.com/public/YOURNAMEHERE?style=D0&start_date=1/1/09 ---------------------------------------- Peer-Support Specialist |

jamiecd77 is right in pointing out that 'startdate" is the answer to alamoangels' issue. Regarding this original question:
can you provide more detail? You want to have a link on some text elsewhere on your site jump to a specific day on your calendar? I'm not sure what you mean by a "listing of events" (or where they are stored) ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

I apologize to Jamie77 - it made no sense, as I tried that and that link then opens up my calendar on your site. I don't want that. Here's the scenerio: I have the event "valentines dinner" in a discussion page, that I would like linked to Feb 14 on the calendar, on MY website, so when someone clicks on "valentines dinner" the calendar opens to that month and the viewer will find the event posted on the 14th. In other words, I have a list of events that take place throughout the year that I want linked to the event day. Is that possible? Thanks in advance for tolerating my limited knowledge! ![]() dk |

Thanks Marc, okay, I tried it again - http://www.localendar.com/public/mywebname?style=D0&start_date=3/7/08 working in my favor anyway - it opens the calendar in the day view, so I'm on the right track! ![]() I would rather it just opened the monthly block view, but will work with this until you respond. Again, apologies to Jamiecd77... I misunderstood most of that! |

FYI : are you aware that the link that you have there doesn't work?? I do get what Marc is suggesting and I will try that. I am assuming that I need to substitute the mywebname portion of the address with my username. ~alamoangels

I know I was having trouble with my calendar links because my html editor kept automatically saving the file extension as .xhtml rather than .html even though it was only simple html & images! That page didn't even have any Javascript or anything on it!! Anyway... I think it has been fixed but I am not sure if the fix got uploaded. I think it did but it seems like I have just been chasing my tail with this stuff as of late! Thanks ~alamoangels
