Why are the skip dates restricted to only 8? I maintain a school calendar which has many skip dates. This limitation makes it very confusing for my users.

For performance reasons, mostly. There is a penalty to be paid computing if an event should not be shown on a date when its recurrence setting say it should. We assumed that admins would clear out/re-use entries or create different events when necessary.

I think this is one of the posts we've had with the length. I will pass it along to the developers.. generally we prioritize issues by the # of members they affect.
