A small form under the mini-navigation calendar now lets you quickly jump to a specific day or month. Several formats are supported.

For example, entering
Oct 2006
or
10/2006

will take you to the month-view for October, 2006

whereas

10/31/2006
or
10.31.2006
or
10-31-2006

will take you to the day-view for October 31, 2006.

If you have a date-format you'd like supported, let us know and we'll investigate adding it.
