The 1st Tuesday of every month is the Surrey Association Open 10 & 12 Bell Practice, held at Croydon Minster. This practice is designed to cater for those wanting to build up their experience of ringing on Higher Numbers. Rounds on 12, Plain Hunt on 9/11 are always featured. Grandsire & Stedman Caters is also common. If numbers permit we also ring Cinques.   

Meet at West Door for 19:45.

Parking available outside the Church, plenty of Bus/Tram access from East & West Croydon stations, closest tram stops are Church Street and Reeves Corner

The course will be held at St Nicholas, Thames Ditton.

Pre-requisites: 

Students should be able to:

• Dodge competently e.g. ring a plain course of either Bob Doubles or Grandsire Doubles

Please note - Stedman has NO plain hunting therefore being able to plain hunt is not sufficent to enter this course.

For anyone aspiring to ring Cambridge Minor - we are again running a once per month special practice for 3 months.  

Held at Nutfield this course will run on the following dates;

Friday 18th September

Friday 23rd October

Friday 27th November

Students should be able to:

• Dodge competently 
• Ring a plain minor method e.g. Plain Bob Minor

There is NO plain hunt in Cambridge therefore being able PH6 would not be sufficient to start this course.

The NDP invades Beddington for September, general ringing on 8 and 10 bells ranging from Call Changes to Grandsire/Stedman Caters and Little Bob Royal 

Location: Beddington

Time: 15:30 - 17:00. Refreshments in The Plough afterwards! 

Nearest Station: Hackbridge (Southern/Thameslink). Bus Routes 407, 410 and 463. 

A relaxed practice for ringers who want to call doubles or minor methods. Beginner, improver and expert callers are all welcome.

This practice moves to a different tower every month.

All ringers who want to practice 8-bell (triples and major) methods are very welcome. We usually ring a selection of plain hunt, treble bob hunt, Grandsire, Stedman, Plain Bob major, Little Bob major, Double Norwich and sometimes Cambridge major. We do not ring call changes at this practice.

Budding callers who would like to have a go at calling a touch are always very welcome.

A monthly Saturday morning district practice open to all.

Ringing for all abilities as long as you are able to safely handle a bell, from rounds and changes up.

An advanced 6 bell practice of plain and surprise minor methods.

Regular surprise methods are Cambridge, Norwich, London and Carlisle with Touches and Spliced Plain and Little Bob, St Clements and Double Oxford Minor.

The focussed method is Beverley with Carlisle as the second method.

The new start time is 10.30am with a pub lunch after for those wishing to stay on.
