Learn and practice how to call 'call changes' with guidance from experienced ringers.

This course is being run at All Saints, Kingston which is a 12 bell tower and the call changes will be available on a variety of bell numbers; 6, 8, 10 and even 12 if people would like to have a go.

The number of students will be limited to 5 however it will be open to another 5 that come as student-helpers that need only to be reasonable call change ringers.  This will allow the student-helpers to practice ringing call changes on higher numbers than they may otherwise be used to.

Additionally, a further 5, experienced, helpers would be needed to ensure the quality of the experience.

The 1st Tuesday of every month is the Surrey Association Open 10 & 12 Bell Practice, held at Croydon Minster. This practice is designed to cater for those wanting to build up their experience of ringing on Higher Numbers. Rounds on 12, Plain Hunt on 9/11 are always featured. Grandsire & Stedman Caters is also common. If numbers permit we also ring Cinques.   

Meet at West Door for 19:45.

Parking available outside the Church, plenty of Bus/Tram access from East & West Croydon stations, closest tram stops are Church Street and Reeves Corner

Southern District '10-bell' Surprise Major Practice (2nd Saturday of the month). This month we are ringing on 10-bells and will focus on Grandsire and Stedman Caters, Little Bob Royal and Cambridge Royal - no major!

Open practice for all young independent ringers

A relaxed practice for ringers who want to call doubles or minor methods. Beginner, improver and expert callers are all welcome.

This practice moves to a different tower every month.

Open practice for advanced 12 bell ringing.

We ring Stedman Cinques, Cambridge, Yorkshire, Bristol and Zanussi Surprise Maximus.

A monthly Saturday morning district practice open to all.

Ringing for all abilities as long as you are able to safely handle a bell, from rounds and changes up.

An advanced 6 bell practice of plain and surprise minor methods.

Regular surprise methods are Cambridge, Norwich, London and Carlisle with Touches and Spliced Plain and Little Bob, St Clements and Double Oxford Minor.

The focussed method to start the year will be Beverley.

Minimum ringing level to ring Cambridge from any place bell or to treble bob hunt with aspirations.

A new start time of 10.30am to allow for coffee before the 11am start and a pub lunch after for those wishing to stay on.

All ringers who want to practice 8-bell (triples and major) methods are very welcome. We usually ring a selection of plain hunt, treble bob hunt, Grandsire, Stedman, Plain Bob major, Little Bob major, Double Norwich and sometimes Cambridge major. We do not ring call changes at this practice.

Budding callers who would like to have a go at calling a touch are always very welcome.

Open to all Association members.  The day will introduce complete beginners to ringing methods on hand bells whilst also providing experienced ringers an opportunity to indulge.

Please, if the Student option is full, book as a Student-Reserve.  If numbers are sufficient and helpers permit, we will increase the student count.
