The 1st Tuesday of every month is the Surrey Association Open 10 & 12 Bell Practice, held at Croydon Minster. This practice is designed to cater for those wanting to build up their experience of ringing on Higher Numbers. Rounds on 12, Plain Hunt on 9/11 are always featured. Grandsire & Stedman Caters is also common. If numbers permit we also ring Cinques.   

Meet at West Door for 19:30.

Parking available outside the Church, plenty of Bus/Tram access from East & West Croydon stations, closest tram stops are Church Street and Reeves Corner 

Shirley McGill will lead you on your journey into Suprise Minor starting with the essential first step - being able to Treble Bob

• An introduction to ringing Treble Bob methods
• Learning how to Treble Bob Hunt 

Those very new to Treble Bob will be intruduced to Treble Bob Hunting surrounded by experienced ringers

For those wishing to ring inside, the course will concentrate on Oxford Treble Bob Minor.

If there is a demand for it there will also be an opportunity to try Cambridge Surprise Minor.

Students should be able to:

• ring plain minor methods eg Plain Bob, St Clements.
• Some experience of dodging in 5/6 would be an advantage

Southern District Surprise Major Practice (2nd Saturday of the month). We ring up to the Standard 8 depending on numbers. 

All welcome but please let Noel Gibbin know if you are planning on attending.

Please note venues will be moving around the District from month to month.

A relaxed practice for ringers who want to call doubles or minor methods. Beginner, improver and expert callers are all welcome.

This month's practice will be held at St Peter, Village Street Newdigate RH5 5DL

This event is specially for new(ish) ringers who ring rounds or call changes. More experienced ringers who like ringing call changes are also welcome.

We will be visiting two towers:

Lunch break

2pm - 3.30pm St John's, Merton SW19 2JY

The towers are in the same team ministry and it's easy to walk from one to the other - passing several pubs on the way! Alternatively, each tower is close to an underground station, one stop apart on the Northern Line.

User-friendly bells, especially selected for the less experienced ringer.

An advanced 6 bell practice of plain and surprise minor methods.

Regular surprise methods are Cambridge, Norwich, London and Carlisle and Touches and Spliced Plain and Little Bob, St Clements and Double Oxford Minor.

Minimum ringing level to ring Cambridge from any place bell.

All ringers who want to practice 8-bell (triples and major) methods are very welcome. We usually ring a selection of plain hunt, Grandsire, Stedman, Plain Bob major, Little Bob major, Double Norwich and sometimes Cambridge major. We do not ring call changes at this practice.

Budding callers who would like to have a go at calling a touch are always very welcome.

Open 12 bell pracice for those wishing to advance their 12 bell ringing.

We ring Stedman Cinques, Cambridge, Yorkshire and Bristol Maximus
