The website says that the free 30-day trial includes premium webmaster, which would allow others to add/modify events in my calendar. However, this is not happening even though I am in the 30-day period and I have a calendar set up. What is wrong?

Are the events marked "public" when the visitors are adding them?

Yes they are marked public.

You need to check under Options->General and make sure you have turned on the option "Allow visitors to Add Events to my calendar"
