We want to print our merged LoCalendar, in black & white for our monthly newsletter. We have paid for the premium service so we have the Printable button. These are our 2 questions: 1. We tend to have alot of things going on in the month so the printed font is far too small. I've read that the fix for that is just around the corner but do you know the ETA? 2. The calendar prints with boxes around almost everything, yet there are a few entries that don't have boxes on the sides. How can we print with boxes ONLY around the entire day with no boxes around the individual entries? Side question.... Is there a format like the ?style=W0 that will print a list for the entire year and not just the week? Thanks! |

About my "side question" above... I've done some playing around and I do like the W0 format but not only do I want it for the whole year, but I'd also like it to skip the dates with no activities. Is this even possible? Am I FINALLY asking way too much? You guys are great by the way. I really love this calendar and have learned alot about HTML, etc. by talking you ya'll. Thanks! |

For the size of printing, normally specific printer drivers (and browsers) have the ability to change/zoom on the text size. I'd be happy to take a look at a specific month on your calendar if you want to post a link. W0 for the year we'd have to think about... Calendars can be computationally intensive to create (b/c of all the recurring events possible), which is why we havent supported multi-month or year-views at this time. We'd have to put this behind some other short term enhancements we have planned though. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

For the size of printing, normally specific printer drivers (and browsers) have the ability to change/zoom on the text size. I read in one of the threads that you were working on this feature where the user could pick the size text they wanted for the print view. Did I mis-read? I didn't know a printer driver could do that. How? I'd be happy to take a look at a specific month on your calendar if you want to post a link. I don't think that would help. Just say that when we print our monthly calendar, the font is around size 6. We need it to be bigger inside the boxes, for the printed copy - without boxes around each event. Any way to do that? W0 for the year we'd have to think about... Calendars can be computationally intensive to create (b/c of all the recurring events possible), which is why we havent supported multi-month or year-views at this time. We'd have to put this behind some other short term enhancements we have planned though. I also saw this request on some past threads. What they asked for is a list of the years events. Sounds good. I could also find several uses for a list of the week's, or even month's, events without the details - just the title, and not-interactive, look but don't touch. How can I do that? One other related question... in the W0 and W1 styles, why are the entries interactive even if there are no details entered for the event? This does not happen on the monthly view calendar and I'd really like it to work the same on the W0 calendar. People would get frustrated if they click expecting something and getting nothing. Am I doing something wrong when I embed it into the website? Thanks in advance for your answers! |

We specifically put the boxes around the events for the regular view; otherwise you could just as well print the regular page with the calendar (or add a link to the full calendar page using custom HTML in your calendar's footer) We don't have any immediate plans for offering different printable view formats. I'm hesitant to commit to anything else right now b/c we have a bunch of other neat stuff in the queue. No *immediate* plans for an event list w/o descriptions (or the year view) but we are actively working on some other calendar view styles (and ways to incorporate them into your localendar experience). When those have been released (4 weeks or so) we can start entertaining some other suggestions. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |

You said: "We specifically put the boxes around the events for the regular view; otherwise you could just as well print the regular page with the calendar (or add a link to the full calendar page using custom HTML in your calendar's footer)" I'm not sure what you mean. Could you elaborate? Also, as for the font size on the printed calendar, I still don't know how to do that... (August 27 entry: YOU SAID: For the size of printing, normally specific printer drivers (and browsers) have the ability to change/zoom on the text size. I SAID: I read in one of the threads that you were working on this feature where the user could pick the size text they wanted for the print view. Did I mis-read? Sure - I meant, in principle, there's no reason you *need* the Printable View. You can print any web page in your browser, after all. But most people want a printable view that's a little "cleaner", so in the one we generate we do stuff like add a thicker border around the days, remove the arrows for moving forwards/backwards, etc. On a somewhat related note, we have been looking into pdf output for this reason. ---------------------------------------- Marc Higgins Support Associate, localendar.com Follow us on Twitter! http://www.twitter.com/localendar_news |
