We are using the full month view in a separate page with great success, but I would like to include the "today + happening soon" option (style=D2) on my main page, within a floating layer. As I am limited on space (200 px wide), it would be helpful to have more control over the format of that displayed page (font size, margins, etc.). If that is not an option, is it possible to hit the database directly with scripting (asp, etc.). That would be ideal, as I could get exactly the look I'm after. There is still a link to the full, monthly calendar from the floating layer, so our visitors will have access to that as well.

Thanks for your time and the great web app! This is a fantastic service you provide, especially for non-profits like us.

Thanks for the nice feedback biggrin

As part of creating a new "Format" editor for the discussion forums, we'll also be changing the current calendar prefs editor (under Options->Colors) as well. Most likely, this will entail moving everything to CSS-driven settings (customizable per member).

Direct DB access isn't likely as it opens up a host of security/performance related issues. We have also recently been discussing a customizable RSS or XML view (though currently just the Month view, not Today+Soon). This would allow you to take control of the output by doing a simple XSL transform.

Please keep an eye on the Announcements section for developments in these areas.

Thanks Marc!

Any of the methods you described would be ideal. The CSS seems to be the simplest, but most limited. If that is the case, would we be able to specify our own CSS, maintained by us, on our own server? It would give us the flexibility to match some site settings and it would be far easier to make a quick change to the format.

Also, may we have an option for the credit line? Currently, it is the text string. I might like to create an icon with a link to your site. Based upon my intended use of the "today..." display, less is better. Since we have a link to the full monthly calendar, I might like to incorporate it with the credit to you.

Thanks again and keep up the good work,

-mj
